Come Boldly

I need to come boldly to the throne.

I need to confidently approach my Father with my concerns, dreams, worries, fears, gratitude, problems… with everything!

Not slink shyly into His presence!

Picture this…

You and your spouse are laying in bed.

Your friend walks into your room and tells you they don’t feel good.

What do you do?

Or better yet, what don’t you do?

I’m guessing you wouldn’t throw the covers back and invite them in for a cuddle lol.

You may offer to get them a Tylenol, but that would be about it.

Because you don’t have that kind of relationship with them that would warrant that familiarity, that intimacy.

Now, picture it’s your child that walks into your room and tells you they don’t feel good.

I’m guessing you would throw the covers back, get them settled and then care for them (probably regardless of their age if you’re like me lol).

Because he/she is your child and your love for them…

Gives them the right to come boldly into your room (presence)…

To climb right into your bed and right into your arms.

Your love for them gives them the right to come to you when they don’t feel well, are struggling, or are heartbroken.

How much more is God there for His children?

I believe God doesn’t just want us to come to Him…

I believe He wants us to come running and jump into His arms!

This scripture supports my belief:

But what if your child…

Hung back at your doorway.

What if your sick child…

Didn’t even tell you they were sick, let alone let you comfort them?

What if your child denied you the opportunity to heal them, or comfort them?

What would that do to your heart?

What if your child refused to even come into your presence (room)?

What if your child shyly and with uncertainty asked you to see if they had a fever from your doorway, not even coming into your presense (room)?

How that would break a parent’s heart!

Knowing that your child didn’t know they could count on you to help, heal, support, or comfort them in their time of need.

How devastating would that be to you?

Yet, I’ve approached my Father in that same manner many times..

How I must have broken His heart by doing so!

I had what I thought were good reasons;

  • “I can’t bother God with this, it’s too dumb, too small.
  • “God’s got more pressing matters to attend to than listening to me cry over a guy!”

I was wrong (yes, again lol).

I’ve learned that if something matters to me, it matters to my Father…

Regardless of the size of my issues or the seemingly insignificance of them…

God cares about my problems…

Because He cares about me!

He loves me!

So, I will no longer hang back in the doorway, no way, from now on…

I will come boldly, not just boldly…

I will run to my Father, I will leap into His arms, bury my head in His chest and tell Him all about what’s bothering me.

But, tell me…will you?
