God Owes Me!

Once I became a Christian, I’m not going to lie, a part of me believed that “God owes me something!”

I mean, I had just become royalty since God became my Father, and He is the King of kings…. so I thought it perfectly rational and logical to think “God owes me!”

This is what I’ve learned since then…

The only thing God owes me is death for my sins and….

to sweeten the pot…..eternity in Hell.

Not quite the inheritance I was thinking of!

I also learned that it’s ok to expect God’s blessings,

To have the attitude that I “deserve” them however…

Is not!

I am now a child of God!

Surely, that worth something, there has to be some kind of payoff right?

Wrong, unless…

You count caring for others, loving them as you never had before, doing the right thing even when no one is looking, trying to honor God with your thoughts, words and actions and dying to yourself every day!

How is that for a payoff???

I have to notice others-can’t just be all about me anymore, care about what they are going through-which can make me sad, ruin my whole day, help them if I can-which is always more work than just walking on by, or something that costs me money

It really sounds more like a “punishment” than a payoff, but…

I have never been happier, more content, more at peace, felt more loved, more valuable as a person, more cherished as a daughter than I do since starting a relationship with God.

It is just like Him to take something that’s harder for me, costs me money, and causes me to be inconvenieced (ashes)…

And make beauty from all of it.

Person of Honor

Hi! I'm Raynee. I am a Christian, a licensed professional counselor, a wife to a husband I do not deserve-cause he's so wonderful, a mother of two amazing adult children I couldn't be more proud of, and a grandmother AKA Mimi of seven absolutely adorable grandbabies. I am also an Optivia coach, a writer, a speaker, and most importantly (second to being a Christian that is) I am a woman of integrity and honor.
