It’s About a Relationship

Knowing about God is not enough, it’s not what He wants. It’s about a relationship, the most important relationship you’ll ever have.

I love God!!!

It’s not enough to know ABOUT God, you have to KNOW God.

His heart, His love, His goodness…

Is there a person in your life that you love, but have never met?

Never spent any time with them, never got to know them…

Can you say you love them or… would you have to say you love the thought of them; your future spouse you have yet to meet, a child you lost…

To have a relationship with God, you have to talk to Him, learn His character, see His goodness.

You can’t just read about it, you have to walk with Him everyday…

Talk to Him, read His word, love His children, worship Him, thank Him.

I’ll say it again and cannot stress this enough…

It’s not enough to know about God…no one ever told me that when I became a Christian!

I immediately started reading my Bible and going to church-not out of love for God, but because that’s what “good” Christians do.

I found reading the Bible to be an unbearable chore (all those ‘begots’) and got nothing out of it other than I got to say “I read it!”

And praying?

Oh man, it was something that I got easily distracted from!

“Father, thank You for another day, I wonder if James remembered to put the clothes in the washer into the dryer?

Stop…ok, sorry Father.

(I’d start again) I want to thank You for my babies, although how Robbie can sleep like the dead is beyond me, I’m not looking forward to waking him up tomorrow morning.

Oh! I did it again, sorry Lord…” and on and on it would go until I would feel so bad, that I’d just give up.

Also, something else to think about…

Satan knows the Bible better than I do…

He can quote all of the scriptures…

Name all the Godly people in the Bible.

Recall all of the miracles Jesus preformed!

I can’t do that!

But I have something he doesn’t have…

I have a relationship with God!

I am spending more time in the Bible.

I no longer find it boring…

How could I?

It’s got romance, action, plots, story lines, dilemmas, heroes, bad guys!

I don’t know how I missed all of these things the first time around.

I not only read God’s word, I use scriptures to control my thoughts, and to slam the door (hard) on Satan.!

One of my favorite scritures for doing this is:

I recite this scripture in a warrior’s, hard, gruff, loud voice.

I don’t think I could say it any other way lol.

That is NOT the only scripture I need on a daily basis!

Here’s what my work space looks like:

Screen One
Screen Two

I look up specific stuff to see what does God say about things, like… forgiveness.

My prayer life is on point!

I speak to my Father all day long; “What should we work on now Father?” “How come this (cookie bar on this website lol) isn’t working?”

I also pray through out my day, for my family, for strangers on Facebook.

And, I pray when I am made aware of the need… right then!

I do not say I’ll pray for you, or type “I’ll pray for you” I just do it right then.

Otherwise, I may forget. And, if I forget I feel horrible, so I do it right then and there! (Wherever then and there is lol).

Another thing that helps me with prayer, and reminds me to pray for my community…which I sometimes forget to do.

Is my church gave me a neighborhood prayer sheet.

I substitute the word “we” for “I” and I try to pray it every day.

I found a link that will get the prayer sheet thingy to you if you download it:

It looks like this:

Fellowship’s community prayer

Worship, oh man do I get my worship on!

I’ll tell you why you will never see me without my hands raised and my body moving during worship…

Years ago my husband, son and I went to a Def Leppard concert and I danced, screamed, clapped…had a great time!

And…. got convicted by the Holy Spirit!

He said; “You do not love this band as much as you love Me, why do you only sway at church when My worship team is singing?”

My answer was “because no one else does at church either”…

Yeah, not the best answer lol.

I’ve learned God doesn’t care what other people do or what other people think about what I do.

He cares about my heart.

So now, I worship Him like no others!

If you come to church with me, you need to sit two seats down, not because I wouldn’t want to sit next to you, but because I don’t want to hurt you!

Your girl gets to moving! (One day I got over 5,000 ‘steps’ just from worshipping!)

My Father is a jeolous God (it says so in the Bible, see I do know some stuff! lol)

And as He is my witness, when I am worshipping Him, He will never have a reason to be jeolous ever again!
