Who’s Wearing the Mask?

Who’s wearing the mask provides multiple examples that require child to identify who is wearing the masks and responsible for taking them off.

This will empower your child to not take on the judgments of others, that if someone is rude to them, it’s not something they need to internalize. For example if your child’s friend doesn’t say hi, your child may think “He thinks I’m a joke, he isn’t really my friend!” Instead, if your child can identify his friend is wearing the Mask of Rudeness/Disrespect, he may think “He must be having a hard day.”

Figuring out who is wearing the masks in situations, will also help your child  to increase their accountability when they make mistakes. Own that you made a mistake, then remove the masks you wore.
