Day 88: To Tan Or Not To Tan?

December 3, 2021: To tan or not to tan, what do the experts say?

As you all know, I use indoor tanning as a reward for me working out.

For me, tanning is a reward for going to the gym and walking on the treadmill.

It “signals” the end of my workout and punctuates that I did something good for my body.

But, should I?

According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, I should NOT be tanning as a reward or for any other reason!

Man, that bites!

How come everything semi-fun is bad?

I think brown fat looks better than white fat!

I like the feeling of warmth from the tanning bed, it’s comforting.

I think tanning makes my teeth look whiter!

And tanning makes my stretch marks less noticable!

But…

I don’t like those things more than being skin cancer free!

The article reported that indoor tanning:

  • Is not safer than outdoor tanning (they are both bad for you)
  • Getting a “base tan” will not prevent more dangerous sun damage
  • Ages me…what? I thought it made me look younger!
  • Can lead to an addiction? Tanorexia? Seriously, is that a thing?

Well, there goes one of my rewards…

No one better come out saying the hydro massage bed is bad for you, I won’t have any rewards!

And for those of you who say “Raynee, working out is your reward”

I say “Do you not know me? Why would you say something like to me???” lol

Today’s weigh in picture:

Total weight lost to date: 39.4 pounds!

With weight loss like this, maybe working out is the only reward I need!

Wow, so proud of myself!

Can I get a “Woot Woot”?

What’s up with my steps???
