Day 89: Parade Of Lights

December 4, 2021: I was asked to help with handing out candy for the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) at the parade of lights.

I couldn’t say “Yes” fast enough!

I’d do anything to help out our country’s veterans!

And make kids happy too?

Sign me up!

I have a loud personality that can’t be quieted lol

So here’s how I showed up to the Parade of lights:

Would you really have expected less from me? lol

I handed out handfuls after handfuls of candy, not just to the young, but the old alike!

I had so much fun!

Here’s a picture of me all lit up:

I had lights going down from my each arm (the battery pack was housed in my bra-don’t laugh, it worked!)

I had a light up necklace on-guess where that battery pack was housed? lol

My hat lit up!

Even my Christmas hat is loud-the elf sings! lol

Want to know how I made it? (I’m thinking you do, as eight or nine parade goers wanted to know!)

So, I took an old witches hat, stuffed the inside of it with a Christmas tree from the dollar store, and then I hot glued all the presents, the Nutcracker, and the doggie to the hat.

Because I got everything from the dollor store (the REAL dollar store, not the fake ones where everything costs more than a dollar!)

Total cost for my Christmas hat was….

$12 bucks!

You heard it here folks…12 bucks, a true dollar store, and an imagination will get you….

A Christmas hat you can be proud of!

To wow and thrill the young and old alike!

All this to say, get involved with local charities, do your part!

Volunteering can help you with your weight loss goals…

I hit OVER 10,000 steps today, due in part to the Parade of Lights!

Today’s weigh in picture:

Total weight lost to date: 38.6 pounds

Over view of my day picture:

See what volunteering can get you? lol
