Day 12: Weight Loss Surgery

September 12, 2021 Day Twelve: Weight Loss and weight loss surgery.

Here is my weigh-in picture as promised!

12.8 pounds weight lost in 12 days!

I’m so blown away!

NEVER have I had weigh loss like this before (well, that’s not true, when I had weight loss surgery sixteen years ago I did.)

So, this is the first time, without surgical intervention, I’ve ever lost this much weight in as many days!

The thing about weigh loss surgery is if you don’t tame your inner Fatty, chances are high that you will gain all the weight ou lost back.

Maybe not right away, but if you are like me, you will.

I’m not the only one who gained weight back after weight loss surgery.

This five-year study shows that 50% of all participants in the study regained their weight back:

We aren’t going to do that though!

We are going to learn how to tame our inner Fatty’s!

Here is my off-to-the-gym picture:

And away I go!

Therapist Corner:

(This is what I’m going to call it when I put on step into my therapist shoes on this blog)

Had to make it big so I could read it!

The way you fight Fatty, is you need to have an answer for the arguments/thoughts your inner Fatty will make/formulate.

Fatty’s arguments are what I call 1st thoughts. These thoughts are judmental, cruel, critical, most oftentimes exaggerated, paired with emotions.

They keep you stuck.

1st thoughts are how inner Fattys sabotage our weight loss efforts.

Without an answer to Fatty’s first thoughts we are destined to fail as we have all done numerous times before.

We need to have a ready answer for 1st thoughts… I call these answers:

2nd Thoughts

2nd Thoughts are factual, encouraging, based on past successes, exact, and very much goal-oriented. They move us forward.

An example:

Fatty says: (1st thought) “You haven’t lost as much weight as Raynee! I told you this just isn’t the weight loss program for you!”

You say: (2nd thought) “You’re right, I haven’t, but I have lost weight! I’m closer to my goal now.”

Cruddy thing: You will probably have to create a lot of 2nd thoughts as Fatty isn’t going to give up easily.

It’s never “one and done” with Fattys!

Example continued:

Fatty says (1st thought) “You’ll quit Optavia, you always quit.” (OUCH! See what I mean by critical and cruel?)

You say: (2nd thought) “Not this time. Hush Fatty or I’ll put you on the stairmaster!”

Remember how relentless Fatty was my first week?

She never stopped complaining about the food!

But, she’s quieter now. She still pops up every once in awhile, but for the most part she’s tamed 😉

If you can defeat your inner Fatty, chances are high that you will be successful on Optavia.

So do not let your Fatty win!

Especially not when you can eat food like this:

Pork loin 6 ounces-so much food, even Fatty was happy!

Something I should mention: Optavia has INCREDIBLE recipes you can make -they look incredible anyway, I don’t cook so I wouldn’t know.

Whenever my amazing husband is working out of town, I eat pre-packaged cooked Salmon.

If cooking is your thing, you can also find recipes for lean and green meals on pintrest:
This one looked good so I snagged it for you!

I found it by…

Going on Pinterest and typed in: Optavia recipes 5 &1 and this came up.

You’re welcome inner Fattys!

Now quiet down and let them join me on this weight loss journey!

Person of Honor

Hi! I'm Raynee. I am a Christian, a licensed professional counselor, a wife to a husband I do not deserve-cause he's so wonderful, a mother of two amazing adult children I couldn't be more proud of, and a grandmother AKA Mimi of seven absolutely adorable grandbabies. I am also an Optivia coach, a writer, a speaker, and most importantly (second to being a Christian that is) I am a woman of integrity and honor.
