Day 24: Masks

Everyone wears the kind of masks I’m talking about.

Three of the Forty-two Masks: Cruelty, Betrayal and Aggresion

As you might know, I am a therapist. I’m licensed in Colorado…see, I’m legit!

Over the last twenty plus years God has blessed me with the privilege of writing down His behavior masks.

It is part of the Integrity and Honor Program and if you would like more information about it you can click on the Honor Family tab on the homepage.

Basically, the masks are 42 behaviors every human being has engaged in at some point in their lives…

Mask of Rudeness/Disrespect, Mask of Entitlement, Mask of Lying, Mask of Disobedience, and Mask of Giving into Peer Pressure, to name a few.

Masks were chosen as they are an “item”-think clothing, that can be put on (behaviors we do) and taken off (behaviors we stop doing.)

Masks hide who we really are.

We use them with the hopes that people won’t think we are “dumb” or “bad” when in reality, using them is what makes us appear as “dumb” or “bad”.

I believe everyone was created by God and that He poured into each of us unlimited potential! (You don’t have to believe as I do, God poured into me enough belief for the both of us!)

So we are born with the ability to align our thoughts, our words and our actions with who God created us to be.

The masks cover up who we really are, and using them hurts us in the end.

If you cheat on your diet, then you think of yourself as a cheater. If you fail to go to the gym as planned, you think of yourself as a failure.

You are not the masks you choose to wear!

You are worth dying for, Jesus thought so.

So if you do cheat on your diet, remind yourself that you are not a cheater, you wore a mask.

If you don’t make it to the gym, you are not a failure, you just wore the Mask of Irresponsibility.

Masks are mistakes you make, they are not YOU!

Masks also fit in with 1st thoughts, remember those? The judgemental, critical, cruel, condemning thoughts that torment us and make us want to give up, hide, and not try again.

So, if you wear a mask, just take it off.

Do what you can to make amends for the mistake you made, and forgive yourself and others-since we ALL wear the masks.

Today’s weigh-in picture:

Total weight lost to date: 19.2 pounds!
My Workout summary not too bad for 3 hours worth of sleep!

I have still been hungry today and I wanted crunck with my Sikly Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip bar so I added a small handful of peanuts that I didn’t weigh (yikes! You won’t catching me doing that very often!)

I got the crunch I wanted!

Remember how I told you I was craving cheese?

Tara (another fabulous Optavia coach) said we could have it, it’s one of the snacks!

I have GOT to read those books! I did start, see:

I’m reading Dr. A’s book!

Coach’s Tip:

Don’t order four boxes of your favorite bars, snacks because then you’ll be eating the same bars and snacks for an entire month, like I am currently doing 🙂

Person of Honor

Hi! I'm Raynee. I am a Christian, a licensed professional counselor, a wife to a husband I do not deserve-cause he's so wonderful, a mother of two amazing adult children I couldn't be more proud of, and a grandmother AKA Mimi of seven absolutely adorable grandbabies. I am also an Optivia coach, a writer, a speaker, and most importantly (second to being a Christian that is) I am a woman of integrity and honor.
